Nighthawk x8 router
My Nighthawk x8 does not have a telephone port. What adapter do I need to attach a landline?

Thank you for the reply. I am transferring a landline from AT&T to xfinity.----what modem/gateway do you have? They told me I could just plug it in. Technical support there is terrible. I will probably cancel xfinity and get ooma----You still need internet service to use Ooma. . Thanks again.

1. X8 isn't a model. What actual router do you have?
2. You can't just "add a landline" to a router. Most isps that support landlines require it on the modem. and you'd have to buy one with it.
3. While you can't just 'add a landline" you could purchase a VOIP service like Ooma and get a landline connection through them.

If you lease a gateway (combination modem/router) from Xfinity, there is an RJ11 phone jack on the back of the unit.
Customer Owned And Maintained (COAM) modems from Netgear that work with Xfinity and support their land line option are limited to one model, the CM2050V.
