No Ethernet Output
Using ethernet, when I route my modem directly to my computer all is well. When I route my modem to my Netgear router, then to my computer it works 95% of the time but I frequently get "Your interne...

My Dearest Guru antinode
The only positive outcome of my having the misfortune of dealing with you yesterday and today regarding my router problems is that I am now assured that someone, you, must be having a worse time with life right now than I am. I have never corresponded with someone that presents themselves as wanting to help others that have less knowledge in a given area who was more arrogant, self-gratifying and pompous than yourself. If I knew how to properly articulate my problems to your satisfaction then I probably would not need you which on retrospect would have been preferable. If you are part of a "community" I was in, I would move. While you might know a great deal about routers, networking and the like, you are woefully lacking in any type of people skills. I wish you the best and can only imagine how you must justify everything that happens to you as being caused by the shortcomings of others. Have a nice life. :)

My appologies to everyone who did not find the brand and model of the router. Before allowing me to post, it asked for the model which I entered. I made the mistake of assuming that the information would be included with my post. I have entered it again, but in case it is once again omitted, it is a Netgear Nighhawk R7000P (AC2300) router.

I have seen that happen. You aren't the first victim of the joke software that Netgear insists in renting to run this place.
But we still don't know what the modem is.
Does the modem also do wifi? Does it have a row of Ethernet ports on the back?

Please allow me to "restate" the problem. If I attach my computer directly to my modem (as it is now) I have an internet connection. If I attach my router directly to my modem and then attach my computer to my router the router power and internet LEDs are solid white and the ethernet port LED I am using is blinking white but I no longer have an internet connection to my computer. As far as the firmware, etc., "yes" I did think I needed to log into my router to get that information, but since I have no internet connection at my computer if the router is in the network I did not know how to do that.

We still do not know what his modem is.
You have now been asked three times.
IT CAN BE IMPORTANT.

i don't know where the problem is but I keep selecting my router model etc and it shows up in my post but nobody seems to be able to see it, so I will try again. I have a Netgear Nighthawk AC2300 (R7000P) dual Band WiFi router with 4 x 1G ethernet and 2 USB ports on the rear.

has an internet connection. What is your evidence that the computer
does not? A clear description of what does happen would be more useful
than a vague description of what does not happen.> [...] since I have no internet connection at my computer if the router

connection.Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for
"Troubleshoot"? If an Internet connection were needed to configure the
router, then almost everyone would be stuck in a giant Catch 22.

My evidence of no internet is that even after I reboot the computer says it does not have an internet connection. I would read my post, and tried to, but could not locate it no matter what path I tried.
