Yes, it does, but it's well documented on this forum that certain firmware updates are incompatible with the settings from previous versions. Chalk it up to Netgear's unwillingness to fix their configuration subsystem to be backwards and forwards compatible.

Following this as mine is not completely out but fails daily needing a reset to bring it back up.

There seem to be a lot of reports of problems with the latest version. Have you tried performing a factory reset? Every once in a while a new firmware update requires it. And don't restore settings from a backup. That'll only undo the factory reset. You need to reconfigure everything by hand.
