Not getting 1 gig

Question

I have Xfinity and i pay for 1 gig speed, both my modem and router are both rated for 1 gig but then i do a speed test on a wired desktop thats rated for 2 gig i only get about 600 mbps, any thoughts on why im not getting around 1 gig?

What brand and model# model and router are you using?

For wired speeds, you should see near 900 Mbps.
For wireless speeds, you'll not see any thing near 900Mpbs over 5Ghz AC wireless with 2x2 MIMO supporting devices. They usually top out at around 500-600Mpbs. 4x4 MIMO device can get near 900Mpbs or over depending on design and support and router model.&nbsp;

Ok, wired speeds you should see near 900Mpbs.

The thing is im getting 600 mbps max on a wired desktop. Im not concerned with what im getting wireless. Im concerned with only getting 600 mbps on a wired desktop.

1. the cm700 isn't rated to gigabit speeds on xfinity.
2. hardwire your pc/laptop into the mode and test those speeds to see what you get. That'll tell you the max speed you might be able to get out of the router. Its pointless to troubleshoot the router if xfinity is only provisioning you for 600mbps .
