- Jan 31, 2017Hello all - found the souce of the issue. The cable modem had a wifi network built into it that I had set up a long time ago, before I got the new router. That is the source of the networks that we don't want active. I have been able to disable that fuction on the modem while keeping my Netgear router active. Thank you very much for the time and ideas that helped us figure it out. Thanks!

Is your old router still connected to your network (and powered on)?
- ourgang309Jan 24, 2017AspirantI should have included this in my first post. No, the older router is not plugged and powered on. I believe it's still in the house but it's in a closet or a box or something.
