Outgoing Emails being blocked since 1/5/2022 firmware update

Hello,

All of my outgoing emails are now being blocked as Spam since the 1/5/2022 update. What was in that update that caused this issue and how do I change it back? I'm looking to reinstall firmware V1.0.4.120_10.0.91 if I cannot find an answer how to fix this.

Thank you,

Chris

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Here some more information what was patched: https://www.tenable.com/security/research/tra-2021-57

You router doesn't have an anti-spam feature. Try also to contact your internet service provider if you aren't blocked because one of your devices is infected and was sending spam mail. Do you have another security software installed on your devices which also includes an anti-spam filter? Could you please post the error message that your receive exactly?

The message I recieve when I send an email is this: 554 5.7.1 [VO-1] Message blocked due to spam content in the message.

If I remove the router and go straight through the cable modem, I do not get the message and the email goes through fine. Also, if I send email while on my WiFi network, I get the same message and the email does not go though. If I turn off WiFi on my phone (disconnecting to my network) the email goes through and I do not get the message.

I can only conclude that the firmware update on Jan 5th, 2022 has a change that has caused this issue.

I did check the IP that the my service provider has given me and it does show up on the follow spam list:

        dnsbl.sorbs.net

        dnsbl.spfbl.net

        dul.dnsbl.sorbs.net

According to Sorbs, every dynamically assigned IP's (which my service provider does) will show on their list.

So my options are to replace this router, revert the latest firmware or turn off the functionality that is causing this.

If I have to replace this router, this will make me move away from Netgrear because of this.

The cable modem is an Arris with the model number of CM8200A.

I have not done a factory reset at this time but I suspect I will need to remove the latest firmware.

I have 350M down and 15M up connection.
