Full disclosure, I have little to no knowledge of routers. For weeks, I have been experiencing random bouts of packet loss when gaming, and after speaking to both my ISP and Netgear, I have not reach...

A few more details might help.
1. what modem/gateway is the router connected to?
2. what firmware is on the router?
3. What device (model) are you gaming on?
4. how is the gaming device connected to the router? Wired? wireless?
5. have you noticed if its related to certain games?

Hello.
1.) It's a Spectrum modem, I'm not sure what a Gateway is, I have very little knowledge of the terminology in regards to routers or wireless networking.
2.) I'm not sure how to check the firmware
3.) The model is R6300 v2
4.) It's a wireless connection (a wired connection is not possible for me)
5.) It happens with all games on several different devices

1. look at the spectrum modem. it should have a label on it with modem.
2. when you log into the firmware, the status page will have the firmware you're on.
3. Your wireless connection, are you on the 2.4ghz or the 5ghz? 2.4ghz is more sensitive to interference and much slower
4. You can try buying a long cheap ethernet cord to hard wire the console in for testing. If it fixes the issue, then you know its related to the wireless and to work on that. If it doesn't then its either routing or modem issue.
5. what console is it?
