Plex Pass - do I need this?
Hi all,
I'm not familiar with Plex...
So I see this in router setup "To get three Months Free Plex pass promotion code click here" - do I need Plex Pass for anything if I only want to stream my content?
Not really.
Plex is designed for those who have their own media and want to stream it on their network or outside of it.
If you're streaming of netflix/hulu/etc, it won't be that beneficial to you.

I've downloaded / installed Plex on my cellphone - how do I "see" my newly created Plex server?
Is it a simple matter of buying the Client Side version Plex, that adds ability of seeing my local network?

What you usually happens is the R9000 with an external drive hosts the media. the r9000 transcodes/encodes the media and puts it in a nice looking package/gui. then the apps on phones/tablets/other devices can see the media and stream it.
