Port Forwarding not working R7500v2

Hello I am attempting to forward some ports on my Night Hawk R7500v2. I have the computer's Ip set with a reservation and windows firewall is turned off. No matter what port I attempt to forward it still is closed when I check it. Im using firmware version 1.0.3.10. This is madness ive set this up on other routers before with no issues.

  • Thanks for the info. I called my ISP and they do not restict any ports. So I checked my settings over again and after checking respond to internet ping in the router menu. I was able to get the ports I needed open. Stupid mistakes are the worst lol.

  • Apart from setting up port forwarding on the router, there are two other important requirements to fulfill before a port test will report success.

    1. The router's Internet/WAN port must have a public IP address.  The following are NOT public IP addresses:
      • 192.168.x.x
      • 10.x.x.x
      • 172.16.x.x through 172.31.x.x
      • 100.64.x.x through 100.127.x.x
If your router has one of these addresses, then there is another device performing NAT upstream of you.  Your ISP could be using CGNAT, for example.  If this is the case, port forwarding will simply not work unless you rent a public IP address from your ISP.
    2. The PC must be listening to the ports in question.   If it's not, then it won't respond to connection requests from the port tester, which will report a failure.
