What is that ONT box? Is this router the R7000 or something else on your network.
When you changed the network did you reset the R7000 and set it up for the new network?
Our old router we had connected to the Nighthawk and used the nighthawk for wifi and the old verizon router for basically our Cable TV because it had the coax connection.
I'm confused. What is the Nighthawk there? It is a brand not a model. Again, is it the R7000 or another router?
With the new internet setup we have Coax, but also have ethernet and the technician told me that he set the ONT box to ethernet setting and once we are ready to drop cable, we can just connect the nighthawk for our internet and return the verizon router.
What does that lot mean? coax and ethernet?
We need to know what all the devices are on your network.
What is this Verizon router? Are you using it with the R7000?
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local problems with address on your network. Among other things, the other router can misdirect traffic to addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual default IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

You may need to set the VLAN ID on the WAN. Consult your ISP for correct ID number.
