Product Registration and lost Netgear Genie user and password

I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk X10 (R9000) years ago and a Netgear Nighthawk AX8 (AX6000) years ago.  Under MyNetgear Products it only shows the Netgear Nighthawk AX8 (AX6000) and when I try to register Netgear Nighthawk X10 (R9000) it tells me that it was registered to someone else.  I bought it new and Netgear does not make it easy to find a way to correct this.

Also I tried to access the Netgear Genie App on my computer but it won't accept "admin" and "password".  The security questions "What city were you born in?" and "What city was your Mother born in?"  Does not like the answers I gave...and there seems to be no other options to fix this.  Netgear does not make it easy to find a way to correct this.

I have never had to contact Netgear for anything during the warranty period but now they want more money for help.

For the money Netgear charges for their products they want to charge more to fix problems.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve these issues or should I just never buy a NETGEAR Product ever again?

I can't work out what you are trying to do beyond get a device registered. This may help with that bit:

If you are trying to use the "password recovery" option, there is a bug in Netgear's implementation of password recovery on some devices. You can get locked into a closed loop.

If password recovery is enabled, but you have not set the answers to the questions, it keeps sending you back to the beginning of the process. If you haven't already given the thing your personal answers, they are not in its memory and it has no way of knowing if they are correct.

If the standard factory password (password) does not work, then you will have to factory reset the thing to get back to that. Then either disable password recovery (check the manual for your device) or provide some answers to those questions.
