I was told by my isp that my router needed to be provisioned to handel fiber internet. My old setup was a nighthawk ac1900dst. I have never had a modem either. The only way I have been able to use my ...
Yes and I tried to setup just r8000p the same way I had r7300 when I first brought home my r8000p but it showed no internet available
What is your ISP? An ISP will always place at minimum a modem to get internet access and the router you use to let local devices be able to communicate with the internet. Can you please take some pictures from where the fiber optic cable enters your house/appartment? The next step is configuring your internet connection in the router together with the username and password that you received from your ISP.
- My isp is rye telephone company. I asked if a modem was needed and they told me no.

But they offer different options: DSL modem, CPE which is only a terminal in your home see page 22 of my link and in that case in need to be authorized on the serving wire center.- Thank you so much
