PS5 Netgear Nighthawk R7000 Slow Download Speeds
Unable to get full capable download speeds to my PS5, capped around 200Mbps download.
Setup
- 1Gbps Fiber service
- Nighthawk R7000 Router
- PS5 is hardwired straight to the router with Cat5e cables.
- PS5 assigned static IP
Router Settings
- Factory reset and updated to latest firmware
- All extra functions have been turned off or disabled
- QoS
- Traffic Metering
- Etc...
- Port forwarding for PS5 static IP
- 80,443,1935,3478-3480
I have tested multiple Cat5 cables.
If I unplug the cable from the PS5 and plug it into my laptop, I'm able to get download speeds over 900Mbps.
If I plug the PS5 straight to the modem, I get near max speeds.
There appears to be an issue within the R7000 that is preventing the PS5 from attaining anything over 200. I have researched as much as possible and this seems to be a common issue with the R7000 and PS5 but have not found anyone who has solved it.

What FW version are you using on the router?
Does a ethernet connected PC and Ooklas installable speed test app result is seeing same speeds results?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
