Who's your ISP?
The majority of ISP's only support 1 device connected to the sb8200 even though it has more than 1 ethernet port.
Try this.
disconnect everything from the sb8200 and the r6220 and power them both off. even disconnect the coax from the sb8200.
Wait 2 minutes.
Connect the coax back to the sb8200 and power it on.
Wait 2 minutes for it to fully boot.
Plug the R6220 into port 1 on the sb8200 and power the router on.
Try it then
don't plug anything else but the router into the sb8200. If your ISP is one of the bigger ones, they only assign 1 public ip address to the sb8200 and if its to your computer/other device, the router doesn't get an public ip address and won't be online

I have an ARRIS Surfboard SB8200. I have never had this problem until now. I have had both the modem and wireless route for 2 years.
