R6250 firmware update email notice - no new firmware online
I received an email from Netgear (seems to be from Netgear) that announced a new firmware update for the R6250. Right away I went to the netgear site to see what was available. All I found was the version 1.0.4.48 that I've had installed for more the a year (possibly two years).
I also checked from the netgear genie app that loads from the router. It did NOT find any new firmware update for the R6250.
So, is this a bogus email from Netgear? Is there really a firmware coming? If so, exactly when will it arrive?
Is it a spoofed message from someone out to take advantage of unsuspecting users?
Thanks in advance to whomever can reveal the exact reason why Netgear is yelling "come and get it" .. when there is nothing new to 'get' when you get there.

I've seen email campaigs that are sent out to users that had firmware updated but usually it tells you what version is available.
Does it say what version is available in the email?
