2.4, ookla , server is on portland maine where I live Using an old ASUS A750 laptop
I use to get 110 mbps on it

2.4ghz is sensitive to interference. I haven't seen many devices other than AX devices hit 100mbps over 2.4ghz.
My AC systems usually hit around 30mbps sustained with peaks of 60-70mbps.
You can try changing what wifi channels its broadcasting on. try 1-6-11.
Is your work laptop using a vpn?
do you have a different device you can test both wired and the 5ghz off?

I have Lenovo for work, 5G connection, it's only getting 20mbps, but I suspect becasue we have a lot of security software
