R6700 AC1750 Speed Expectations?
I recenty upgraded my internet speed from 300 Mbps to 900 Mbps with Xfinity. I was previously getting wifi speeds up to 230 Mbps on the 5 mhz wifi. I thought that was an appropriate as I have several devices connect between the 2.4 and 5.
Now that I've upgraded to the 900 Mbps I only seeing Wifi speeds of about 235 - 240. I was expecting much more.
The computer I have wired directly has speeds up to 470 Mbps, which is up from the 280 range. Better but not great.
My Modem is a CM700. The Router is a R6400/AC1750. Both should handle a 900 Mbps speed according to the specs. The router firmware level is 1.0.1.76 traffic limiting is off.
Am I expecting too much from the Wifi? Any suggestion on improvement outside new equipment?

5Ghz AC tops out at around 300-500Mpbs depending on what the mobile devices wifi supports and was designed for. You'll not see anything near 900Mpbs with wireless.

I'd take a look at this review from SNB.
they do pretty good testing in a lab on devices. Keep in mind that these speeds are in a lab so expect slower speeds. But it gives you kind of an expectation of its performance.
On AC, you won't hit gigabit wireless speeds. And usually its not the router thats the bottleneck with a lot of speeds, its the device you're testing on.
regardless, hitting 300mbps is plenty fast for most tasks over wireless. streaming 4k only takes 25-40mbps.
