R6700 Security Vulnerability Firmware Update
16 months ago I purchased an R6700 Nighthawk. Then 2 months ago I received the Web GUI Password Recovery and Exposure Security Vulnerability notification. As I no longer have the privelidge of contacting customer support because my router is past 12mths old (even though the issue I would like to address is a security flaw inherent in their firmware), I figured I would ask the community in the hope that Netgear support might support their own community forums.
The question I would like to ask is "Does Netgear intend to update the firmware [currently R6700 v1.0.0.26_10.0.26] to address this security issue? Or is the R6700 no longer supported?" I only ask because I note the R7000 has received 2 firmware updates in the period since the announcement of this vulnerability. Does anyone here (hopefully maybe a netgear support person looking on?) have any details on this? I should I give up looking for firmware updates?
Thanks for your help with this.
Kind regards.
