This has been going on for quite a while. Immediately after a reboot, all internet connectivity works fine. But after a little while (within a day at most), any devices connected to the 2.4GHz network can no longer access the internet, while those connected to the 5GHz network continue to work fine. Devices on both networks can successfully talk to each other, however.The networks have different names (Foo and Foo-5G), which I gather is necessary on this router.Any suggestions as to what might be going on and how to fix it?

I’m not sure what happened to my first response — I won’t repeat it all, but long story short is that I had already tried most of that (I used to work for an ISP, so those were all instructions I had given many times myself), and the couple things I hadn’t already tried didn’t help.I factory reset the router this weekend and set everything up from scratch. This time I named the two networks differently enough that I could be confident it wasn’t trying to do Smart Connect stuff (though I’m pretty sure the r6700 can’t anyway). As usual, worked fine for a few hours, and then the 2.4GHz network stopped communicating with the outside world.So then I disabled the guest networks and restarted the router. It’s been up and running without incident for about 36 hours, which is much better than it’s done in a long time. We’ll see if that continues.

So you had Guest Network enabled and the main 2.4Ghz SSID stopped working after a short period of time. Now you have Guest Network disabled and the main 2.4Ghz SSID is working now? Well, it took a couple of weeks this time, but the 2.4GHz network has failed again. Firmware is V1.0.4.122_10.0.95Modem is Netgear CM1000 (mine, not the ISP’s). Rebooting the router brings the 2.4 network back to life. There are usually 2-4 other networks visible from my house, but signal strength to them is poor. Before I factory reset the router, I was using custom channels (I don’t recall which ones). Now I’m using the default channels. No difference in the problem - but this really strikes me as a problem with routing traffic between the interfaces, not a problem with wifi connectivity. My devices on both networks can still talk to each other just fine. The problem is that devices on the 2.4 network can’t talk to the WAN.

Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 or 148 to 161 channel on 5Ghz. Set 40Mhz only channel width as well. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings. WMM should be enabled too. You can try with out however it may slow the speed down on 2.4Ghz. How many devices do you have all connected at once? What devices do you have connected?
