R6700v3 Firmware Update 1.0.4.118_10.0.90
--- Check for updates --- Gives me the following information but I cannot find any info and/or verify it on Netgear website: (just checking if it's legit and safe to execute the install) --- ...
- Jul 30, 2021Looks like this firmware is OK! Never heard from Netgear, but they posted the release notes to their website: https://kb.netgear.com/000063867/R6700v3-Firmware-Version-1-0-4-118
We probably just stumbled on the update a bit before they intended us to.

I have the R6700v2 and just installed 1.0.4.118_10.0.90 and am now experiencing DNS issues. Keep getting "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN" and other variants of not being able to resolve the host name. As others have said, if you retry a few times, it finally works.
Just created this account to (hopefully) let Netgear know that they've released another faulty Firmware. I was on 1.0.3.66_10.0.50 for the longest time due to speeds being cut in half on newer firmwares. I didnt experience a speed issue with 1.0.4.118_10.0.90, once I got a connection, I got speeds over 400Mbps.
Just for giggles, I changed my routers DNS servers to CloudFlare and Google with the same result.
These security updates would be great to have without breaking the basic functionality of the router.
Please get it together Netgear.
I don't think I can bring myself to buy another one when it's time to replace this one.

If the rumour is true that Netgear contracts this work out to a third party developer, it is madness to put your reputation in the hands of a bunch of script jockeys who can ruin your brand's reputation.

1.0.4.120_10.0.91 is now available. Does anyone know if this corrects the issue presented in 1.0.4.118?
