Certain Window build prohibited using the non-authenticated guest access. Similar policies can be still in place these days: FMI: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/networking/guest-access-in-smb2-is-disabled-by-default
In my opinion, allowing non-authenticated access is not the world best idea, but still possible today.
