I'm not able to register my netgear router as it says the serial number is incorrect but it is not incorrect, how do I resolve this issue.

might want to recheck the serial number but if its still saying wrong, you can email support.
from the FAQ:
I made a mistake entering my serial number or email address when registering...
Send email to customer.service@netgear.com with:
- the subject line "Correcting registration information"
- a description of your issue
- your NETGEAR customer number OR your full name and contact information
- the product model and serial number
