R6900 disconnecting from the internet randomly
I've had this router for several years now and it worked flawlessly until about the last 3-6 months. Now it just randomly stops connecting with the internet. There is no error, no warning. I've gone as much as 2 weeks with it working fine and today it's crashed 3 times in the last hour. I usually get notified via bluetooth from my door lock. All the lights are lit up the same as when it is working fine. The router status when I connect to it is fine. But I can't get to the internet. I have another hardwire only router and it continues to work while the R6900 fails. I am on the latest firmware. I'm really not sure what is going on.

What stops connecting? Wired devices? Wifi clients? Everything?
By the way, it may be "several years" to you, but this router is actually 10 years old. Now several generations behind the latest.
I am on the latest firmware.Had did you check that?
If you used the Nighthawk app or a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI) they can miss updates, especially when you are a long way behind the latest.
The best way to check is to look at the GUI or the Router Information page in the Nighthawk App and check the firmware version reported there. Then visit the support pages for your device and to look at the library of available updates. There may be a newer version there.

Feed in your model number and look for firmware for your device.
The release notes should also tell you how to manually update the firmware.Or read this:

Then the usual boilerplate question to eliminate some of the more common issues that crop up here. If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that connects this router to the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
Just another user with time on their hands.
