R6900 rebooting itself / freezing

I have a R6900 from Costco which ran flawless for a couple of years, but started acting up since about one month. It suddenly looses internet connection for all connected devices (wired and wireless)...

    OK, here is the update. Did a factory reset, installed the 1.0.2.6 firmware via cable, another factory reset, reconfigured everything by hand and rebooted the router. 5 minutes later it froze up again. As this was no solution I went back to the most recent 1.0.2.16 firmware, factory reset, reconfigured. This time the router even stopped refreshing the web interface while updating the settings. So it looks like it is dying after only 4.5 years of operation.

     

    I removed it and reinstalled my old Tomato flashed Linksys router which now runs fine, although the WiFi is slower. But at least I can work now until a new non-Netgear router arrives which then hopefully lasts a bit longer.
