I've been running the 1.0.11.122 firmware for a few days now, which solved the problem with the timeserver!

I am facing the exact same issue on a Netgear R7000P AC2300 router. have tried it number of times though the moment i access the router to even view the settings or how many devices are connected and exit the app. and login tothe router using the web interface the timezone is off by 30 minutes in my case.
using the latest version of the firmware as available in the R7000P downloads page. (V1.3.2.134_10.1.66)
I suspect it is the router and App combination that is causing some misalignment.
a similar setup with Samsung Note 8 and Netgear 6350 router did not face any such issue.
Samsung note 10 and Netgear 6350 did not face any issue.
the moment you access the R7000 or R7000p and even view the stats or config / devices using the nighthawk app something gets knocked out in the netgear router.
Instead of using GMT +530 the timezone gets reset to GMT +5
even using a different ntp server does not prevent this problem.
and when you login to the router after having accessed it via the nighthawk app, you get this funny error message
"Need to auto config timezone?"
Ok / Cancel.
