I check the connected device on the router page, I can see 2 devices connect to 5G band. 1 Phone (rarely used) and 1 TV Box. It seems these 2 devices still remember the connection and automatically connect when the signal is available.
TV Box? Most TV stuff is 2.4 GHz.
But the fact that some things connect t the 5 GHz suggests that the problem is not with the router but with the devices.
Have you told these mobile devices to forget that they were connected to the wifi and then set the connection up afresh.
I still don't know if you have Smart Connect turned on.

I can puzzled that you can see a "rarely used" phone as being connected. It was on and connected to the wifi when you looked?
You told the phone to "forget" the wifi connection to the R7000?
Did you find time to update the firmware?
Have you tried a router reset?
How do I reset my Orbi WiFi System to factory default settings? - NETGEAR Support
The factory reset is more a case of "witchcraft" than a technically informed solution, but it does seem to fix problems, especially on the wifi front. It is also the first thing that Netgear support is likely to recommend.
You can reduce the hassle of reconfiguring your router's settings by creating a configuration backup before you reset.

Then if something is still broken after the reset, and the new firmware has not fixed it, you can restore the device to the pre-reset state.
You could even try restoring the settings even if the reset has fixed the problems, but be prepared for that to bring back your problems.- jerow23Dec 08, 2023AspirantI dont tried to update firmware yet, because i dont have a laptop with RJ45 port, netgear recommends to do update formware using cable connection.
The rarely used phone : yes it was on and connected, i can see its connected from phone itself, i even tried to share the 5G wifi connection using QR code generated from this rarely used phone, hoping that my other phone can connect to the 5G network, but it’s unsuccessful.
Yup i tried to forget the R7000 network from my phone, still can not see the 5G
I tried to reboot, and i tried to reset to factory setting the router, also unsuccessful.
If the client is facing the issue? I have 4 devices, all can not see the 5G from this R7000 router, but can see 5G wifi from other access point, so kinda strange.
