R7000 and Google Tensor phones

Have a Pixel 7, Pixel 8... neither will connect to the R7000 with 802.11ac, only 802.11a. Had a pixel 5a, where

there was no issues with much greater speed (200-300Mb d/l) when connecting to the R7000 with 802.11ac. Same for other phones such as Motorola and Samsung... all those connect to the R7000 with 802.11ac with great d/l speeds. For some reason the Tensor based Pixels will ONLY connect with 802.11a, so I only see about 30-35Mb download speed.

Connecting to other AC access point routers (R8000, TP Link etc), the Pixel 7&8 will establish connections at 802.11ac. So what's the issue with the newer Pixels and the R7000? Google so far has been zero help as they

provide the typical low level scripted support (reboot router, clear network settings, etc).

Not willing to wipe the R7000 and start over, not worth the hassle as I 100% doubt that will resolve the issue. And yes it has the most recent available firmware.

Try a factory reset and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser.

Try with Smart Connect enable or disabled as well.

Maybe that phones are not really compatible with and older model router as well. Something to contact the Mfr of the phones about.

    Try a different model router.
