R7000 died?

Do you have auto-update enabled? If so, it might have bricked your router.

I don't think I had auto-update enabled, not entirely sure.
Windows isn't allowed in my house, but I'm sure I can find tftpd for Linux and try that. I'm dubious it'll work since the laptop thinks the cable is unplugged. Will let you know.
If you can get a new power adapter, try that first.
If after the power adapter doesn't resolve this, try a 30-30-30 reset on the router. Might kick it out of it's bad state. If that or TFTP even fails, then the router just may be bad and needs replacing.- 30-30-30 reset doesn't work on ARM-based routers. Only MIPS ones.
tftp just says "Network is unreachable". There is no Ethernet-level connection being made.
Tried 30/30/30, as expected no change.
I could check ebay for a power adapter but since this unit has served just shy of 8 years it may be time to move on. (though the backup is even older, a WRT54G running Tomato ... well, more "limping" than running, but online)
