Hello There,
Well, I spent the hole weekend on this issue, so far please find the scenario and outcome, I hope this is going to be helpful to someone.
Scenario: Factory Reset the Modem and install Firmware .130
Outcome: So far I haven't faced any major issues during the process to factory reset the modem and during the installation of firmware .130
- Reset factory was smooth and no issues
- So far during the firmware update it took around 5minutes plus the automatic modem reboot during the process, I think it can be under the "normal" behavior.
- Once the Router came online some features wasn't available anymore:
- "Anywhere" connect
- VPN configuration
- 5G Channel selection
- I powered off the router and waited 5mins aprox. (too much time for the power cycle, but I just got busy in something else)
- After powerd on the router the only feature unavailable was "Anywhere" connect.
- During the network set up I got below intermitent issues:
- After changing a name device I lost the webserver and cannot login to the router. (Rebooting the router fixed the issue)
- Android application worked once then I got the message "logon timeout"
After 24 hours the router looks stable, but I have the same thinking, this firmware is not having a good quality.
Good Luck guys!!
Best Regards.

I own 3 R7000 routers and look after an additional 3. I must confess, I've never had any problems after updating the firmware (with one exception - the "attached devices" not registering correctly after FW v1.0.9.42). It's one of the (very) few Netgear products that doesn't suffer from the numerous hardware "versions", even after its long and distinguished continuing service life.
However, Netgear technical support.................................................. (ugh!)
