R7000 in AP Mode
Hi,
I've gotten a new Netgear router (XR500) and decided to put my old one (R7000) into AP Mode. I've found I haven't been able to interface with the R7000 while it's in AP mode and I've tried ...

Hi all,
I had taken the R7000 in AP Mode, pressed the reset button and redid the process of adding it back on as an access point. With this I was able to make the password something I remembered and am now able to interface with the R7000 while it's in AP Mode. Thanks all for the suggestions.

routerlogin.net doesn't work in AP mode.
How did you get the newly assigned IP address?
Set it on the R7000 when you put it into AP mode or reserve it in the XR500?
Look in the list of attached devices for the XR500 and put the assigned IUP address into a browser.

I believe when I put the R7000 into AP mode I had it so that it'd automatically receive an IP from my XR500. I've gone to device manager in the XR500's DumaOS to find the AP's IP address and enter it into my browser. In fact I'll try it again and show you what it brings up.

I honestly may have forgotten what its old password was but it disables and locks me out for 5 minutes. It'll ask for serial number but it doesn't go anywhere when I enter it and press 'continue'. Perhaps I'll have to reset it with the button on the back and put it back into AP mode with new credentials. All I'm doing is trying to get to a GUI similar to how I could've seen it when it was in router mode.

Wire connect a PC to the router and factory reset the router using the back push pin button. Hold it in for 10 seconds then let go. Then log in to routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1 using a wired PC and web browser and walk thru the setup wizard. Be sure write down all important information for safe keeping later on.
