R7000 ipv6
Hi, I really need some step by step help.
My isp gave me a IPV4CGNAT / IPV6 connection.
He also provided a optical modem and a router.
The router doesn't have the ability to make a VPN.
So for that I connected my R7000 router in a LAN port (WAN in the R7000).
Now I need to make my R7000 use IPV6 but I don't understand all the options I have for it.
Can someone explain to me which option I need to choose and how to fill the fields ?
When I choose auto-detect, it comes up with blanc fields. When I press apply it takes some time and it shows a blanc page and the pulldown menu shows "passthrough".
I need some help.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

I would contact the ISP to see what configuration they require for IPv6 support. They will have this information.

Thanks for this reply.
The router my ISP gave me can't be bridged.
It is really a strange thing to provide a router with CGNAT IPV4, no VPN abillity and no bridge mode, isn;t it ?
DMZ is a good option but i can also make a hole in the firewall for an IP adress.
Isn't that more or less the same ?
But, there seems to be another problem.
My NG is on LAN2 of the ISP router. But the ISP router doesn't find my router as an IPV6 adress, it does for IPV4.
Even stranger is that it finds on LAN2 all the devices that are connected via wifi to the NG router as IPV6 as well as IPV4.
So, somehow the NG router isn't capable of saying " hello, i am here and i also speak trough ipv6".
I disabled DHCP for IPV6 on the ISP router and enabled SLAAC. I have read somewhere that this is the simplest way. However, when DHCP was enabled the problem was the same.
I think i need to configure the NG router to let it be found but the IPV6 settings page...i don't understand it. I am a bit of a network dummy.
So perhaps, please help me to fill the settings page for IPV6 first.- JapioAspirant
I forgot to mention the firmware: V1.0.11.126_10.2.112 for NG.
When enabling the DMZ on the ISP router, I am putting a complete subnet in the DMZ.
The link you presented was for DMZ on the NG router.
