Yes, powerline works like that.
With the r7000, we used to have to recommend that users with issues used the 1.0.9.42 version. I haven't had to do it in a while because the newer ones have been pretty solid. But maybe yours is one with issues. Have you tried the older version of firmware?

I have not yet, ive only tried to do a factory reset. Is it complicated to roll back to older firmwares?
