If you are going backwards in release number you might still have them (that is from one of the older recalled beta's). However there is NO guarantee they will work. In cases like that you have to RESET the router and then re-apply manually your setting for proper operation.
If you are moving up from and older official release, like V1.0.4 or older you don't need to reset the router but it is advised. In this case I'd give it a try, have any problems, reset and re-enter is the first thing to try. DO NOT load saved settings from any other version into a new one. That seems to be asking for trouble these days.

I updated to 1.0.6.28 yesterday and have lost access to my 2.4G network. I have both 5 and 2.4 running and a 2.4G guest network . The guest network seems to work fine. I've tested it with on Android device and 2 Windows laptops. I'll entertain any workarounds or solutions.
Probably doesn't matter but I turned off Arlo right after the update.

I just updated as well. My 5G is fine but my 2.4G status shows good, but nothing will connect to it. I went in and disabled Arlo, but that didn't help, I still can't connect to my 2.4G network. Is anyone else having this issue?

jflorance GyroD4 No problems here with 2.4G Connecting with various devices (multiple Android devices/versions; and multiple Windows devices/versions).

I have cycled the power on the router but haven't tried a hard reset (reset button). Is a hard reset required for the firmware to update properly? I can see the 2.4Ghz is there from my devices, they just won't complete the login process. I do not broadcast my SSID's, but have even tried broadcasting to no avail....

Which issue? There are many issues with this version.
Probably the best fix is to revert back to an older version. 1.0.4.28 and 1.0.4.30 seem to be the most stable.

After upgrading I too have suffered from the total loss of my 2.4Ghz network, which is a real pain. All I get when I try to connect is "cannot connect to this network", which tells me nothing.
Don't Netgear test this stuff before releasing it? So now all my wireless stuff will only work over 5Ghz. I'm hoping Netgear will release a fix for this stuff-up.
Any suggestions; baby steps please, I have no idea what I'm doing with this.

Oh one thing I did notice and forgot to mention is that if I hide the SSID of my WiFi, then my devices cannot connect at all. I have to enable it to make it work.
Bug then?

I consider myself moderately technical when it comes to networking. I suggest reviewing and screen capturing your current configuration and then do the reset. If you keep the old SSID and passwords you should be in good shape. Took me 15 minutes to capture everything and 15 minutes to reconfigure. I have some port forwarding, otherwise it would have gone quicker.
I never looked to see if there was a network configuration export. It would be nice. The configuration backup file is binary so you can't read it.

Was it a reply to my post? If it's a yes, then there is something I don't understand: a reset would revert the router to which firmware? The factory one? Or the one I have just uploaded?
I did a reset, uploaded the latest firmware, and started anew to enter the mac addresses of my devices, the port forwarding rules, and so on.
Everything seem ot be working well except the WiFi if I hide the SSID. In that case, my device can't log on the network. Maybe I've missed a configuration option somewhere?

I lost them too, turning off security they now work on all devices, but of course that is not satisfactory!

Same here, very annoying. 2.4G network seems to have a weaker signal too. netgear support: can we expect an fix soon? Thanks!

Just to be clear, I had problems connecting to 2.4Ghz after applying the firmware update. Once I did a factory reset, I could connect both bands. I have not seen any changes in signal strength between 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz since the update. In fact, my 2.4 is now about 4-6 db stronger in my basement. It was stronger before but I don't know by how much.I am staing with 1.0.6.28 for now.

Congrats - did not work for me at all - unfortunately. While 4.28 works for me right now I'll try XVORTEX out of curiosity - it is somewhaat disappointing that NETGEAR seems to have a need to catch up on testing before release ...
