R7000 Port Forward HTTP/80 no working - firmware version V1.0.6.28_1.1.83
Today I upgraded my NETGEAR R7000 firmware to "V1.0.6.28_1.1.83." I was previously running "V1.0.5.48_1.1.79" but neither firmware version allows me to forward HTTP (port 80) to my internal web serve...

I found this blurb from TELUS which states the ports they block: TELUS HSIA Security Measures Policy. In case the link breaks or TELUS moves the web page these are the ports which are listed (at the time of writing this post):
Port 21 (ftp)
Port 25 (smtp)
Port 80 (https)
Port 110 (pop3)
Port 6667 (ircd)
Ports 135-139 (dcom and netbios)
Port 443 (ssl)
Port 445 (ms-ds)
Port 1433-1434 (ms-ql)I hope this helps others!

Jan 22, 2016This forum has been carpet bombed with post about this FW version. They all suggest revert to your last working version. Have you tried .4.30

Hi Searay,
Yes I tried downgrading to firmware version "V1.0.4.30_1.1.67" but am still unable to port forward. I could try one of the older 1.04 versions but I don't feel like taking this any further. Based on the User Guide and simple fact that the router management interface provides the option to forward traffic over HTTP (Port 80) I am convinced it is one of two problems:
1) Router firmware issue
2) My ISP is blocking port 80
I am going to place a call with with ISP (Canadian Service provider TELUS) and post back when I have the answer.
Thanks for your reply Searay. I very much appreciate the input!

Stay on FW 1.0.4.30. Is remote management turned on? If so turn it off.

Hi Leeh, turning remote management on or off does not change anything. Thanks for your reply.

Hi Everyone,
I have confirmed (via chat) that my ISP (TELUS) does in fact block port 80 on their home service plans: (chat snip from conversation today Jan 22, 2016 8:50 pm MST)This is very unfortunate and extremely frustrating. I am going to escalate my request by calling their business team.
I am going to see if there is a way I can test the router on a different ISP to see if port forward via port 80 is actually broken on firmware version "V1.0.6.28_1.1.83" and post back.
