r7000 ports blocking external hard drive
My Goflex Home external hard drive has dropped off my home network. I do not know why that happened, but for whatever reason, the problem is that the ports it uses to connect to the network, 80 and 4...

OK, I figured it out. The ethernet cable going to the router was broken.New ethernet cable, hard drive back online. It was helpful to realize that the hard drive absolutely had to be listed in the "attached devices" page, as you noted, since that prompted me to look again at the physical setup.

You should not need to enable port forwarding unless UPnP doesn't work. The Seagate instructions walk you through testing it first with UPnP, then resort to using port forwarding only if necessary.
You can find the IP address of your GoFlex by logging onto your R7000 and clicking on Attached Devices.
If "ping go_flex" doesn't work, try "ping go_flex.local".
