All the info I find it was released in 2013. Even worse.

That threw me. But I checked the manuals and other documents. The oldest manual says 2017 as does the data sheet.
Then again, we all know that Netgear's maintenance of its documentation is erratic.
the manual do show that but when you check all the ddwrpt/open-wrt wiki's it shows release data 2013.
And the reviews from release for it at from 2013.
Maybe they did a big update to all the manual in 2017 or something.

That would be a turn up for the books.
There was another manual in 2019.
There were some big changes in that window, when they implemented the Nighthawk apps and releases some major firmware updates.
The most reliable local check should probably be to look at the first firmware release. (Ignore the readme, which can get updated.) The chk file is dated 2013-08-12.
Certainly a while before 2017.
