R7000 Slow Wifi Download Speed

Just had new fiber installed to my house, paying for 600Mbps speeds, and getting that when hardwired at the modem (tested by the technician).

However when using wifi via the R7000 router, speeds are 270-300Mbps MAX over wifi (2g or 5g) as well as directly plugged in via ethernet.

Firmware:

V1.0.11.106_10.2.100

Are there any settings that need to be tweeked?

those are roughly the speeds you can expect out of wifi.

But hardwired you should hit faster speeds.

What modem did the isp use?

did you try a factory reset and reinstall of the router? Make sure to leave qos, access control, traffic monitoring, and parental controls all disabled after the reset.

It’s an ONT (Nokia) for fiber. I did what prev post suggested and updated firmware to v42 and reset to factory defaults. None of those settings you mention are enabled. Still getting about the same speeds. Have an ISP tech coming over today to verify it isn’t the service itself. Even hard wired to the router it still gets only about 350.
