Sorry it's not just the phone, I should have explained better, my desktop is also connected through wifi and it gets weird as well.

No problem, if you think there are delays then running a tracert on a PC (or the equivalent on a smartphone) should help identify where the delays are.

Do you have the Genie app installed on your PC (either from the included CD or having downloaded and installed it from the Netgear website)? Some have reported that this can cause issues for the router.

What specifically should I do with the tracert? Not sure what IP address I should put.
No I don't have the Genie app installed.

I think default values should do, so as per this example you would just use the URL of a site where you are seeing a slow response;
