For a foundation, you want to look at the Wi-Fi specifications of your Intel card. After that, just lots of questions. A few devices, a lot of devices, big place, small place, multiple floors, single point Wi-Fi, a mesh system??? A home, apartment, loft, type of construction???
For mesh systems, start here: https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/mesh/find-my-orbi/
or here: https://www.netgear.com/home/wifi/routers/.
