There's not much in there to go on.
What is this "1.2G". The fastest speed that your router can deliver over a wired connection is 1 Gbps. Wifi will be a lot slower unless you have the fanciest wifi clients going.
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". There may be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that sits between this router and the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
Apologies for all the questions. But you can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:
Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)
They are there for a good reason.
- roguelexSep 06, 2023AspirantSo I’m running v1.0.11.136_10.2.120
The 1.2g is what I get at the modem which is higher than advertised I’m actually around 1.4g.
The Modem/router is Xfinity XB8-T. Yes it’s modem/router. With 3 1G ports and 1. 2G port. So I recently connected the R7000 as a bridged device. I’m getting now around 300mbps max. But now I can’t log into admin. Going to try ping so that I can get ip address due to fact that it changed.- roguelexSep 06, 2023AspirantAnd it’s Bridged thru 5G

What devices are you gaming on and how are they connected to the internet? Wi-Fi or Ethernet?

So I went back to dd-wrt and using r7000 just for Ethernet to have more control over gaming. Qos worked ok only getting 150mbps and 10-20 upload. I disabled qos and now getting full 1G to my laptop but when I run Speedtest it max out around 350it wants to go more but it has to be something in settings which rite now I’m not worried to much about. On ps4 I’m getting 350-430mbps down and 15-30 up. When trying to add qos to my ps4 and change the device name to PlayStation it wouldn’t allow me. Even if I changed anything it would say that name was wrong on device so my qos would never worked regardless because it wasn’t recognizing the name that netgear adds to devices. 🤷🏽♂️. Then it’s annoying when you make one simple change and have to reboot r7000 immediately takes hours just to work on optimizing it. Ddwrt hit save, save, save and finally apply settings boom reboot and done. Max it took me 30min. I’m leaving as is for now. Until I research and note down settings and what they do that way I’m not just sitting there researching what each one does. Sorry for long message.
