Details are key.
1. what modem/gateway do you have?
2. what firmware is on the router?
3. how long has this been going on for?

Hi plemans, thanks for replying.
Motorola M8600 > R7000P (v1.3.3.142-HotFix)
This has been going on for a few months.

Maybe mean the MB8600 (there isn't a m8600).
Try installing the 1.3.0.20 firmware to the R7000P. Its the version prior to netgear armor. When it first came out, a lot of r7000Ps had issues with it but the firmware has gotten much better. Maybe yours is one of the unluck few who's hasn't.
Prior to that, I'd try doing a factory reset and new install on the R7000P. don't use a backup configuration. If that doesn't help, then try the downgrade.

Thanks for the suggestion plemans.
I had done all of this before reaching out here.
The issue started a few months back with FW ver. v1.2.0.22, with the router's WiFi dropping connections 10+ times daily, yet the wired connection was always good.
I uncharacteriscally used the upgrade button from within the router's control panel which seemed to perform the upgrade. However, upon rebooting from the FW upgrade process, the update available button was visible again but when pressed would return that I have the latest version.
Unlike other's who have stated that it's due to a thermal condition under load, this is not the case here. The warmest spot on this unit peaks at 86.5F / 30.2C, sitting under an air vent.
I then upgraded manually all the way up to 1.3.3.142_10.1.75 since the logs were showing many DoS entries indicating vulnerabilities that were reportedly addressed with the hotfix.
Yet the quirks and issues seems to be mounting with this unit. WiFi drops regularly while wired router access is lost. The logs do not record what they are set to record (*this is a big deal*) and delete themselves regularly. Todays logs showed a date discrepancy of 2 months before correcting itself and I've had to cycle power to regain access to the router a couple of times already.
