R7000P drops WIFI connections frequently
I'm finding that the r7000P frequeently drops client wifi connections. I have two PIxel 2XL's that frequently get booted off the 5GHz wifi whenever you put any demand on the router. The symptoms are...

After many hours of troubleshooting, I've found that disabling the MU-MIMO function on the R7000P gives my devices a stable connection.
Advanced > Advanced Setup > Wireless Setting > [Disable MU-MIMO]. Apply.
I have been able to transfer several large files from a wifi device to a wired device without constant dropouts/disconnections at the expense of actually being able to use the MU-MIMO functions of the router.
There are either issues in the way Netgear has implemented MU-MIMO or an incompatibility issue with some other wifi devices on the network. Since I replaced the r7000P with a new one I suspect it's an issue in the Netgear router not my devices (I can't confirm this though as I don't have a different make/model MU-MIMO router to test).
Since MIMO is one of the main selling point for this router this also raises a few new questions.

I'd like to update that after making all the changes I discussed in my last post, the router has been more stable.
However, using my previous router, the Huawei HG659 as a benchmark, I can say that I still experience the below, which I didn't experience with my previous 'cheap' router:
- device will dropout at least one a day (due to lockdowns we always have at least 2 laptops + 2 mobiles on the network), i.e. you will see the wifi disconnect and then reconnect on the laptop
- needed a restart once since I made the changes: this was a significant improvement, but with the cheap Huawei, I never had to restart it
I did however opt to connect the PS4 to an ethernet cable because we do all our streaming using the console, and I noticed that the wifi would be affected by it. This has helped a lot, it is worth noting that with the Huawei I could stream with the PS4, and all my devices would be connected without any problem.
All in all, I can say that all the changes I've done have improved the situation. If return policies in my country were generous I would've returned this product.
If you're reading this and you can still return the product, PLEASE RETURN IT. To ensure that it works you're going to have to disable a lot of features, and with those turned off, you might as well get a cheaper model or a different one altogether.
