R7200 Getting internet speeds at about half of what they should be
Recently, my ISP came and replaced my old modem as it died. It was a modem/router combo and I was wired directly into that and getting the full internet speed provided by my ISP (300 mbps). They repl...

Are those wired or wireless speeds?
Did you test the wired speed right after the reset without making any changes to it?
Make sure qos, access control, parental controls, and traffic monitoring are disabled. (and if you reset, don't re-enable them at all)
If you had reinstalled from a backup, try the reset again and don't use the backup.
Did you test speeds directly connected to the modem?

- Those are wired speeds.
- Yes. They are half.
- 👍
- I did not reset from a backup
- I tried but my PC wasn't allowing me to receive internet from the modem for some reason. The ISP tested it themselves and said I am getting the full 300 mbps through the modem.

ISP's are great at saying "the line's fine".
So we need to get that modem testing first.
what actual modem is it?
Try this. Power off the modem and disconnect everything from it (even coax.) Make sure pc is powered off too.
Wait 10 minutes. (some ISP's take a while to release the public ip) usually its only 2 minutes.
Connect coax back to the modem and power it back on. Wait 2 minutes.
Direct connect the pc to the modem and power it on.
Once its fully booted, test its speeds.

I got my computer to read the internet from the modem finally and speed tested it and I was getting 136 mbps so it turns out the modem or the cable is most likely the issue. I think the tech who installed the new modem flipped the cable splitter. There is another tech coming later today and I will update this thread if that fixes it.

Some modem's you can access and see their cable connections page. Are you able to on that one?
You can remove everything from the coax line and direct connect the modem and see how it does. Splitters and bad connectors can cause slowdowns/errors
