R7300 DST Router and DST Adapter: Trying to sync Adapter with Router, http://mywifiext will not load

My DST adapter was no longer getting a signal from the router so I reset it to factory thinking that would solve the problem... It did not so now I'm trying to sync it to the router using instructions from Netgear I found online. But I didn't get very far. The instructions tell me to enter " http://mywifiext" in my browser. When I do, I get a "This page cannot be found" message. I tried the URL for the Mac OS. It didn't load either. So what now? FYI My firmware is uptodate. The only change I've made is the network password for connecting my computer, tv, etc. When I reset the adapter, it was no longer connected to the router network so I really have no choice but to re-sync it to the router. Please help. I also logged into the router hoping I could find the solution there, but I saw nothing.
