R7400 Netgear NightHawk drops WAN constantly
R7400 Netgear NightHawk drops WAN (aka ISP, internet) constantly. And by that I mean it drops the connection to the WAN ethernet port. About every 15 minutes the router drops the WAN for about 5 ...

Interesting, my R7000 has not seen this issue, ever:
Actually the router ran very well while i had it online. Others would have posted here as well commenting on any WAN issues, if they saw something.
I don't believe the R7000 or R7400 series would be or should be compared as the same. There are differences hardware wise.
Would need to check your Modems Connections status page to see what is seen here rather the events log page.
Ensure your using good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

WiFi neighbors?
What could that possibly have to do with R7400 dropping the ethernet WAN connection?
Be glad that you got a good one, many don’t.

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?
- R7400Bad4GameJul 11, 2022AspirantIt was connected to a Netgear CM1000 cable modem. The CM1000 maintained the link to the ISP (comcast) during the router’s WAN drop. The CM1000 lights kept blinking normally (green), and I checked the CM1000 event log and there were no errors. The R7400 router simply intermittently decides to drop the WAN for 5 seconds, the WAN light turns red and all WAN traffic is dropped.

What CAT# lan cable is between the modem and router? CAT6 is recommended.
Can you please post a screen capture or copy and paste of the CM modems Cable Connections page here.
