WiFi neighbors?
What could that possibly have to do with R7400 dropping the ethernet WAN connection?

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?
- R7400Bad4GameJul 11, 2022AspirantIt was connected to a Netgear CM1000 cable modem. The CM1000 maintained the link to the ISP (comcast) during the router’s WAN drop. The CM1000 lights kept blinking normally (green), and I checked the CM1000 event log and there were no errors. The R7400 router simply intermittently decides to drop the WAN for 5 seconds, the WAN light turns red and all WAN traffic is dropped.

What CAT# lan cable is between the modem and router? CAT6 is recommended.
Can you please post a screen capture or copy and paste of the CM modems Cable Connections page here.
- R7400Bad4GameJul 11, 2022AspirantReplacing the cable from the CM1000 to the router was one of the first troubleshooting I tried, and it is now a brand new CAT6.
After confirming that the R7400 was the culprit I replaced the R7400 with a new TP-Link AX1800 and I have not had any problems since.
