You need to disable the random MAC address option on your phone.

When you get back to it, try to connect to the user interface via an Ethernet cable and a computer with web browser.
- userlee1983Dec 20, 2022AspirantCan only change that option from random to device mac. Either way it doesn't connect 😕.
I'll try ethernet later. But that's worse it doesn't see anything - michaelkenwardDec 20, 2022Guru - Experienced User

Go to the manage networks section on the phone and delete the network. Try to connect again from scratch where you have to re-enter the password.
I you are using Wi-Fi on a computer you may have to do the same thing.
- userlee1983Dec 20, 2022AspirantStrange thing is it connects on iPhone straight away but won't let me log in to router it says can't get to web page as no I internet is available.
Strange
I have tried forget network a few times now and it's the same on android won't connect - michaelkenwardDec 20, 2022Guru - Experienced UserThey do it too. Look at your screenshot.
- userlee1983Dec 20, 2022AspirantSorry I meant in I'm not even sure how to change this on android.
I tried my neighbours old laptop and it connects but it just fails to connect to the GUI no matter what you do.
I've tried tftp it said sent and confirmed and lights all come back on white.
And still nothing. - KitsapDec 20, 2022Master
Attempting to troubleshoot/configure a wireless router with a mobile device over Wi-Fi is a crap-shoot at best. Otherwise it is just like the situation where you find yourself now.
Recommend you turn off the phones and put them in the other room.
Borrow the old laptop. Use an Ethernet cable to connect direct to the ONT, boot the computer and confirm whether or not you have internet service. If not, you have to resolve that first. If you do, connect the router in between the ONT and the computer, boot the router and then boot the computer. Look at the LED indicators on the router, do you have internet service?

That's the way to do it.
There is an even simpler way to start the process. Leave out the ONT.
Connect the laptop to the R7800 and boot the router and then the computer.
If your R7800 is not dead you should be able to get into it with a browser.
After you have been there, done that, you can go back to the above. If you can't get in, then the R7800 may be a gonner.
That gives you the simplest possible testbed and gets rid of the useless wifi link that Kitsap rightly warns against.
This has been suggested here several times already – see the notes on manual firmware updates – but I can't see if userlee1983 tried that.
- userlee1983Dec 21, 2022AspirantAs above I've tried it. Laptop only and router and it won't load the gui

Sounds dead.

- Press reset for 30 seconds
- Keep pressing reset while removing power
- Keep pressing reset for another 30 seconds while apply power
Good call. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned before.
It is called "recovery mode" and the R7800 is one of the routers that accepts it.
If it works, the power LED should turn white and blink steadily.
