I have not. I can do that definitely. I would just like to get to the bottom of why the current setup is no longer working after the firmware upgrade.
This same setup hardware and configuration has been running flawlessly for a long time now. It’s just confusing. I wonder if I should downgrade the firmware manually?

If you haven't, its always worth a try.
- Dna316Jan 30, 2022AspirantOk so I ended up changing the xfi gateway bridge mode off. Setup a new network on it. Then I hard reset the r7800 by holding the reset for 30 seconds. Setup the net gear router from scratch.
All good then for the heck of it I plugged the xfi gateway into the netgear router and it’s also handing out addresses. Weird. - FURRYe38Jan 30, 2022Guru - Experienced User
You would be in a double NAT condition which isn't recommended.

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers?_ga=2.190834155.1964120923.1641394007-133989108.1641394007

3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Disabling SSID does not turn off wifi, nor does it disable router functions on the R7800. You can still have double NAT issues between the gateway and the router.
