R7800 is maxing out at ~100Mbps
Hi, My R7800 seems to be maxed out at 100Mbps on the 2.4ghz band, but i am getting the full 500Mbps with the 5ghz band. I have updated to the latest firmware and that did not help. can an...

2.4ghz is a much much slower band that 5ghz. hitting 100mbps is actually considered pretty good over 2.4ghz.

the R7800 says it get speeds up to 800mbps on 2.4ghz...what a bunch of BS false advertising!

Those are connection rates seen between the router and connected devices that support connection rates at those speeds. Connection rates differ from actual bandwidth...
Not alot of wifi devices that support 800Mbps on 2.4Ghz.

I'd agree that a lot of 2.4ghz marketing is BS. Its a bit ridiculous.
I usually recommend reading a few tested review sites to get a decent idea of what performance you should be expecting. Smallnetbuilder did a great review on the R7800 that i'd recommend reading. I did link to the wifi testing part but its all a pretty good read.

More useful background reading that shows that it is unrealistic to expect anything on 2.4 GHz to get anywhere near 800mbps.
