It is worth noting that the drive also did not work with NTFS. Clearly ExFAT also will not work.
However, adding a snarky response to a "help" forum is a bit contradictory, wouldn't you say?

Other people report that their Mac can see NTFS. Funny that you needed to use ExFAT to get the Mac to see it. I didn't realise that they still held out against the industry standard.
More to the point, the HGST Ultrastar 7K4000 is a standard hard drive. What you are using to make it accessible to the R7800?

ReadyShare is a pretty basic technology for getting storage to show. It won't work with anything that needs drivers. It is also limited in how much power it can deliver.

PS A quick test here shows that Readyshare is happy to work with a USB enclosure with a 1 TB NTFS drive.
